Alhaji K. Frimpong — Kyenkyen Bi Adi Mawu

I was introduced to this tape by a certain Aaron K. Snyder, of the band The Assdroids. I later went to Ghana and bought myself a copy. There have been tracks from this album posted here in the past, but I am finally throwing up the complete recording. There are many Alhaji K. Frimpong CDs available commercially. Please buy them.

i can’t get these to download. I’ve tried a few times on different days and I keep getting timeout messages. Any help? I love Frimpong and would appreciate any more tapes you have as well. Much love

Hello, yes, There are problems with most of these files, could you please re-upload them? I’ve been looking for this song for years, I had a tape of it but lost it. It is in fact simply amazing, and I was glad to find out that I’m not the only one who loves it. Thanks a lot for sharing this. May Frimpong R.I.P.

Thanks for sharing this great music!!! Most of the bloggers out there that actually have this music hoard it all to themselves which just sucks since it’s so hard to find this material. Thanks for not being one of the hoarders. You rule.

Hi Brian,

A couple of weeks ago I was in a small tape shop in Ho, Volta Region, Ghana, and I saw this tape! There were hundreds of tapes in the shop, and this was the only one I recognised. It made me smile. It’s partly due to music blogs like you that I went to Ghana in the first place. Thanks!

Kwaku Kung Fu should be a household name and/or sampled a whole bunch. GREAT tape, Mensu weirdly made me think of those old Yardbirds-style rave-ups…

Cheers for reups, no doubt I’ll be pestering you more as I’m working my way back through :P

Thanks for this one. I’m not really a fan of the synth pop period, but somehow this one grabbed me despite the keyboards & I guess that’s a sign of quality! Great stuff, thank you.
