I got this excellent frentic freakout of a tape in Paris. I can't find any infos on this rai guy who is from Morocco or Algeria (I can't recall). While googling I came across these great music videos by a guy with a similar name.

Next Awesome Tapes from Africa DJ set is with Konono no. 1, Javelin, Just Wills and Prof DJ Rainstick at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC on July 18.

Comments:
Nice groove on this one.

El Knitri = born in Kenitra city (Morocco).

Should be Moroccan - "Knitri" means he's from Kentira, just north of Rabat in Morocco. Plus Fassiphone is a Moroccan label. Can't wait to hear this one!

Just ran into this site while checking out the new AlteredZones.com./

Damn.

I might have some tapes (already ripped) for you. Will have a look through the collection and drop a line.

Man this is great. Currently living in Paris, looking for place to dance, I'm curious about where you were spinning records while you were here. THANKS!

amazing tape! more rai please!

Thank you for your amazing blog! Your posts are so interesting and the music is just amazing. Keep up your unvaluable work. Ciao!

Giulio, Roma.

Doesn't it make more sense to add every song in a .rar or .zip file and upload onto mediafire? Downloading each song separately or have all song as one mp3 is incredibly annoying and backwards.

good tape from Morocco! concerning the style, I would rather say it's "shaabi" instead of "rai"...
